Christ-Honoring music

Your spiritual growth will either be advanced by a Christ-honoring music philosophy or stunted by a worldly music philosophy. Whether you are browsing for good Christian music in a Christian bookstore or listening to Christian radio, you will find quite a mixture of good and bad music. Romans 12:9 says, “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”

We are faced with this problem today because some Christians falsely assume that only the words can make a song evil or good. These Christians make the lofty statement that “music is amoral.” By this, they mean that the melody, harmony, and rhythm of music cannot be characterized as Christ-honoring or sinful. They intentionally imitate individual secular styles of dress and performance (with the false theory that they must become like them to win them.)

All of life is connected. Colossians 1:17 says of Jesus Christ, "And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." Everything we do comes out of what we believe to be true about God. As we gain a higher vision of our Creator God, as Isaiah did in Isaiah 6:1-5, we will recognize the sinfulness of this world and yearn for the righteousness and holiness of God.

I hope you will take advantage of the resources on this website to gain a higher vision of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Once we have trusted Christ as our Saviour, we have the life of the Eternal One living inside us. But until we reach heaven, we must still fight our old nature, this world's system, and the Devil as we grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Take comfort in these words from I John 3:2,

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

  In order to worship God in spirit and truth, we must recognize our

own sinful condition and ask Christ to become our Saviour.

Are you ready to meet God? 

     1. God loves all people. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son...."

     2. All men are sinners. Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

     3. Sin must be paid for. Romans 6:23,"For the wages of sin is death..."      

     4. Christ died for our sin. Romans 5:8, "...While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
     5.  We must personally put our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

          Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
